Using carbon in your filter will not only help prevent discolouration and odour in the aquarium water, but will additionally help prevent toxic substances such as chlorine and heavy metals (introduced through tap-water) from harming fish.
Carbon should be replaced every 4-6 weeks to ensure it remains an effective component of your aquarium filter.
