There is a choice of 6 tests -Copper, Nitrite, Ammonia, pH, Nitrate, Alkalinity & Multi-Kit
Copper - This kit is an effective way to measure copper levels in aquariums. Fasttest for copper can determine if the desired therapeutic level has been reached, or whether additional medication should be added to maintain a therapeutic level.
Nitrite - This kit includes a dual range feature that permits high and low level readings. Disappearance of initial high nitrite indicates that the biological filter has become established. Low level nitrite readings discovered after the conditioning cycle may indicate problems with the biological filter in the aquarium.
Ammonia - Ammonia is the primary waste product of aquatic organisms. In new, unconditioned aquariums, ammonia levels rise until bacteria, which change the ammonia to less toxic compounds, are established in the filter. This kit was developed specifically to monitor these changes and provide an accurate reading even at extremely low ammonia levels.
pH - In addition to nitrate, the nitrification or conditioning sequence produces acid. This acid depletes buffers and results in steadily decreasing pH, which, if uncorrected, will fall below the "safe" range of 8.0 - 8.4. A pH of 8.1 to 8.3 is considered ideal.
Nitrate - Although not significantly toxic, nitrate does collect in the aquarium at a rate that is proportional to the biological loading of the system. The measurement of hitrate provides a way to monitor general water quality.
Alkalinity - This kit is used to measure the buffer level or alkalinity in marine aquariums. Alkalinity, occasionally referred to as carbonate hardness, should not be confused with traditional hardness tests that measure calcium and magnesium levels.
